Past and Present: Why Rosa Luxemburg now?: Conference Call for papers

Dates: 24-25-26 January 2023

Location: University of Pisa and Scuola Normale Superiore (Italy)

Abstract Deadline: September 15, 2022

Notification: September 30, 2022

On 24th-25th-26th 2023, the University of Pisa and Scuola Normale Superiore will host in Pisa an international conference on Rosa Luxemburg.

The conference aims to analyze Rosa Luxemburg’s theoretical and political works through different interpretative lenses. Rosa Luxemburg’s life and works are still very relevant for today’s times and the present conference will hence try to contextualize her in the light of some of today’s most pressing political and philosophical themes. By adopting an interdisciplinary approach, the conference aims to speak to a wider audience of both scholars and (scholar-)activists.

Scholars and scholar-activists at any stage of their career, who are interested to participate in the conference, are requested to send a short abstract (300 words max.) and a short biographical note (150 words max.) to the following email address: Giulia Longoni (giulia.longoni@phd.unipi.it). Accepted papers will appear in the book we aim to publish at the end of the conference.

The accepted contributions will be notified by September 30, 2022.

The Conference, held in English, will take place in a blended modality: online and in presence.

The authors of selected papers will be allocated 15 minutes for their presentation during the conference.
